This meditation is a very short extract of a longer guided meditation available on Andy Bramhill’s calming music web site.

Healing Chakras is a specially made album of music designed to help open and stimulate the chakras. It is an excellent meditation tool and can be used in all sorts of situations as relaxing background music for massage, yoga, reiki sessions, meditation etc.  It can promote healing and has extremely energizing properties.  The album is available on CD or as a download and there is also a download version that has a guided meditation narrated over the music.

This video is an abridged version of the guided meditation which lasts just over an hour though if you do need a shorter meditation then there is an appropriate place to stop after about 30 minutes.

Each track on the album has been created to incorporate the energy of one of the chakras… As you probably know, each chakra vibrates to the frequency of a certain color, likewise each chakra also vibrates to the frequency of a certain musical note. Each of the tracks has been created with this in mind.

The guided meditation will take you by the hand and lead you into a meditation where you activate chakras one by one, you are told to imagine a ball of colored energy coming out of your chakra as it opens,  You are then allowed to drift off into the music as that chakra starts to slowly open up and spin. Each track lasts about 5 minutes and then you go onto the next chakra. Once all 7 chakras have been activated the energy of the music changes and the second part of the meditation will begin.

This second part of the meditation is a lot deeper, the energy now changes direction and starts to pour in through your already open chakras.
You now allow the energy to flow inwards, this time beginning with the crown chakra…  With each track you then work your way back down the chakras one by one.  Once you reach the root chakra with the last track of the album you should have the energy flowing up through your spine, coming back down into your crown chakra and flowing all the way back down to the root again.

This meditation will completely energize you and repeated practice of this will open you up to a new level of consciousness…  the benefits are endless.

In reality, a healing CD can be anything from a simple calming soothing CD of new age music to a specially designed work using binaural beats and positive affirmations to put you into a more receptive state of mind.

In my opinion, in order to heal yourself you need to become first open to the idea that this is possible. This will help a lot. There is then a lot of specially designed music that can put you without you having to do anything into a receptive state for receiving healing therapies. This way your body will react a lot better to any therapies that are used.

This is extremely popular amongst Reiki healers. There is a lot of so called Reiki music that is sometimes hailed as healing music. In fact this is only music to help put the healer and the patient in a more position in which you will be able to receive the healing energy with minimal  resistance.

Reiki healing is pure energy healing and the use of a Reiki CD or a healing CD whilst the treatment is being undertaken is often used. You can however use a healing CD on your own after your treatment session, not so much to heal yourself but more to maintain a level of relaxation and openness to the energies involved in your earlier healing session.

In general, a healing CD is used as an accompaniment for a healing session or can be used as a calming music CD to help the healing process once that the healing session has been undertaken. There are a few exceptional CDs like the ‘Healing Chakras’ CD that do have healing properties in themselves. The vibration of the music will filter these vibrations into the body itself so that healing can take place without the listener having to do anything, it simply infuses the healing vibrations into the body through the music.

There is no guarantee that a healing CD or this type of music will affect any healing at all but it will certainly put one into the right space for receiving healing energies be it from a healing therapy or simply from the vibrations of the music itself.

There are many people who feel the need to buy calming music for their homes, cars and work places and who use it regularly. There are also many who play a lot of music that is the opposite of calming having raucous sounds and repetitive beats with an electric dissonance, screaming and completely negative lyrics. This sort of music brings with it a really negative energy which will permeate into the being of the listener and affect them on a molecular level.

Your choice of music will greatly effect your state of well being both mentally and even physically in the long run. If you listen to calming music you will find that it will put you into a calm state yourself in general. It will allow you to observe the world passing by and to not get unnecessarily involved in its little dramas.

There are many CDs of calming music and they range in styles. For example a lot of classical music can have a really soothing and calming effect. The chamber music of J. S. Bach for instance although mathematical in its nature can be really soothing. Impressionist music from Dubussy or Satie has it’s place too. New age music with its almost hypnotic repetitive patterns can also be a really good choice for soothing music. There is also the type of new age music that I refer to as wallpaper which is simply a type sound canvas consisting of soothing chords, maybe with nature sounds such as sea or woodland sounds underlying.

Whichever type of calming music you choose to listen to you will find it will really help you with your own personal stress levels and that your own energy in general will tend to be reflected by the music that you are listening to regularly.

Each chakra responds to a particular color. The colors each have their own vibrations which are sympathetic to the frequency of the vibrations of the chakras. For example the bass or root chakra responds to the color red. So just as each chakra has its own color also they have their own sound vibration or musical note. The vibration of the first chakra which corresponds to the color red also corresponds to the musical note of C.

Each chakra has its own key and a good CD of chakra music will consist of music in the key of each chakra starting at the root chakra and moving on up to the crown. There are also some CDs of chakra music that then return with a piece of music for the crown chakra and moving down through 7 more pieces down to the root chakra again.

There is some chakra music that uses binaural beats where there are almost inaudible vibrations that are supposed to correspond to each of the chakras. In fact, these binaural beats simply help your brain to enter into alpha or beta states which will get you into that ‘meditation’ or ‘dream’ state virtually immediately. These sounds alone will not help cause your chakras to respond and open but will simply put you in the right space to do it yourself.

This chakra music can really help you when you are meditating or simply trying to open and balance your chakras. You will find that each chakra will open with ease as it begins to vibrate with the tones of the key that corresponds to that chakra. This can be a wonderful way to get in touch with your chakras and learn how to open and balance them on demand,  all through the use of chakra music.
